Wisconsin Audit Confirms Accurate Vote Count in 2024 Presidential Election

MADISON – In a significant affirmation of electoral integrity, a new audit has confirmed that all votes cast in Wisconsin during the 2024 presidential election were counted accurately. This comprehensive review comes on the heels of President Donald Trump’s victory over then-Vice President Kamala Harris in a state known for its pivotal role in national elections.

The audit, mandated by state and local election officials after each general election, scrutinized over 327,000 ballots. Conducted in the weeks following the November election, it aimed to ensure that the voting equipment used across Wisconsin was both secure and reliable. Meagan Wolfe, the administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC), shared the findings in a memo, emphasizing that there were no discrepancies in the vote count.

Local clerks and their teams undertook the painstaking task of hand-auditing the ballots, verifying that the machines accurately tabulated votes. Wolfe reported, “There was no evidence of programming errors, unauthorized alterations, or ‘hacking’ of voting equipment software or hardware.” She further clarified that any errors identified during the audit were human mistakes, not machine-related issues.

This audit is particularly noteworthy as it represents the largest of its kind in Wisconsin’s history. It comes in the wake of heightened scrutiny surrounding election processes, especially following the tumultuous 2020 election cycle. In that election, Trump claimed, without evidence, that he had actually won Wisconsin, despite losing to Joe Biden by approximately 21,000 votes—a result that was upheld by multiple audits and judicial reviews.

In 2024, Trump reversed his fortunes in Wisconsin, defeating Harris by about 29,000 votes. The audit’s findings serve to dispel lingering doubts about the integrity of the electoral process, particularly the unfounded allegations that voting machines had altered votes.

Democratic commission chairwoman Ann Jacobs, who also served during the 2020 election, expressed hope that the audit results would reassure voters across the political spectrum. “We all lament when our candidate loses, but in Wisconsin, it wasn’t because someone hacked the machines. The other guy just got more votes,” Jacobs stated on social media. Her comments reflect a desire for unity and trust in the electoral system, regardless of political affiliation.

As the dust settles from the 2024 election, this audit stands as a testament to the robustness of Wisconsin’s voting process. With the findings now public, voters can take comfort in knowing that their voices were heard and counted accurately.
