JD Vance Casts His Ballot in Cincinnati, Expresses Optimism for Trump-Vance Ticket

CINCINNATI, OH — In a spirited display of civic duty, Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance cast his ballot this morning at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cincinnati, accompanied by his wife, Usha, and their children. The senator appeared upbeat as he participated in what he called “one of the great traditions in American democracy.”

After voting for the Trump-Vance ticket, Vance took a moment to share his thoughts with reporters. “I feel good, you never know until you know, but I feel good about this race,” he said, reflecting on the significance of the day. He drew a parallel to his own previous election, stating, “I felt good about my own race a couple of years ago when I voted in this exact same spot. Hopefully, it goes as well for President Trump and me as it went for me a couple of years ago in the state of Ohio.”

Vance acknowledged the divided nature of the current political landscape, noting that regardless of the election’s outcome, at least half of the country would be disappointed. However, he emphasized his commitment to treating all Americans with respect, regardless of their voting choices. “If elected, I will still treat those who did not vote for my ticket as American citizens,” he assured.

In a bid to bridge the political divide, Vance expressed his belief that good governance and creating prosperity for all Americans could help heal the rift in the country. “We are all fundamentally on the same team, no matter how you voted,” he stated, advocating for unity in a time of division.

Vance also addressed recent polling data, specifically an Iowa poll showing Vice President Kamala Harris leading Trump. “I’m not too worried about that,” he said, dismissing it as an outlier. “We feel very good about the energy. We feel very good about the early vote. But ultimately, the ball is in the courts of the American people. Today is the day.”

He urged voters to consider the stakes of the election, framing it as a choice between Trump’s vision for America and the current administration’s policies. “If you don’t want an open border, vote for Donald Trump. If you want to get back to low inflation and affordable groceries, vote for Donald Trump. If you want to return the world to peace and stability, vote for Donald Trump,” Vance declared.

Despite the competitive nature of the race, Vance maintained a positive outlook, saying, “I certainly hope you vote for Donald J. Trump today … but if you vote the wrong way, in my view, I’m still going to love you, I’m still going to treat you as a fellow citizen.” He expressed his commitment to fighting for the dreams and families of all Americans, regardless of their political affiliation.

As the day unfolds, Vance shared that he has not yet spoken to Trump but plans to watch the election results together in Palm Beach later tonight. “My heart is just overwhelmed with gratitude” for the opportunity to campaign for vice president, he said, adding, “The fact that I’m standing here is a testament that we live in the greatest country in the world.”

As the polls close and results begin to roll in, Vance’s optimism and commitment to unity resonate with many voters, reflecting a broader desire for healing in a divided nation.
